Q1 — What are the benefits of buying an ex-police vehicle?

A — Ex-police cars offer you fantastic value for money, in fact most of our vehicles are priced at up to half main dealers' prices. You also get the opportunity to own a high performance used car with no hidden history, genuine mileage and the reassurance that only expertly trained police drivers have commanded the vehicle.

Q2 — Will I be able to tell that my vehicle used to be a police car?

A — No. As all vehicles come direct from various forces throughout the UK the majority have had specialist police equipment fitted and had various standard parts removed from the vehicle, i.e. light bars, aerials fitted and other components modified. All cars pass through our rigorous preparation process with roof and linings refurbished and interior parts restored to normal spec. Each individual vehicle is assessed and refitted with the appropriate parts and every effort is made to ensure the cars look presentable and restored for normal use. Our specialist in-house body shop and preparation centre will re-spray and refurbish the body work, then valet the vehicle fully before the interior is replenished.

Q3 — Does the vehicle come with any Service History?

A — All police vehicles have an impeccable history and the force workshops spend huge amounts of money on genuine dealer parts, quality tyres and components. If we do not have the history of the vehicle in our possession, it can be applied for from the relevant police force that the vehicle belonged to. The address of the force will be on your V5 documents. Once the vehicle is registered in your name you can write to the force requesting a full history printout from the force workshop.

Q4 — Does the vehicle have an MOT?

A — Yes, all our vehicles come with a 12 month MOT completed by an independent MOT station for your own piece of mind.

Q5 — Does the price of the vehicle include Road Tax?

A — No. The car doesn't usually come with any road tax. When applying for road tax for the first time you have to visit your local DVLA office in person, it cannot be done over the counter at the Post Office. The V5 (owners document) will then be sent off to be changed into your name and you will be issued with your tax disc there and then. To find your nearest DVLA office go to www.dvla.gov.uk/contactus/localoffices/findnear.aspx. If required, we can arrange for your vehicle to be taxed (at your cost) before it is collected or delivered.

Q6 — Do the vehicles come with any warranty?

A — No. The vehicles do not come with any warranty. However, a third party warranty can be offered (at your cost) if required. Please contact us for further information.

Q7 — How much does it cost to deliver my vehicle?

A — As a general rule the cost to deliver a vehicle is calculated at £1 per mile, one way from HX6 postcode. This is only an estimate and is subject to change. For an exact delivery price please enquire upon purchase.

Q8 — Does the vehicle come with any extra equipment, i.e. Sat Nav?

A — No. All the vehicles are returned to their original spec. We do however fit a brand new MP3/CD stereo with removable front as standard. We can source and fit any other equipment at a reasonable cost to you, i.e. Satellite Navigation Systems & Hands-Free telephone kits. All equipment is professionally fitted by our in-house technicians who have years of experience in this field. Please contact us for further information.

Q9 — Do the vehicles usually have high mileage?

A — The simple answer is YES!! However, the vehicles have been fully maintained and serviced at regular intervals by professional technicians and any parts that need replacing are replaced with genuine dealer parts. The vehicles are driven by highly experienced and expertly trained drivers and the majority of miles are amassed covering the UK's motorway network.

Q10 — Are all ex-police vehicles white?

A — Not always but generally yes. We can however re-spray the vehicle to almost any colour of your choice at a reasonable cost to you. All re-sprays are professionally carried out by our in-house technicians who have many years of experience in this field. Please contact us for further information and prices.
